MILLENNIALS: YOU’RE THE ADULTS IN THE ROOM

As a geriatric millennial (1982), and a former pastor, I feel a sense of responsibility to remind my generation (1981-96) that we are the adults in the room. This is our time to shine and lead. We own this age, and what history says about it. I know many of you are already mobilized, I’ve bumped into you, but there are more of us and I’m calling you out. Let’s go…

As a gay dad in the south, this cruelty isn’t shocking or new to me. Not only have I had to face bullies to be myself, my kids have as well. What is shocking and new to me is the TOLERANCE I’ve seen for “LEADERS” who bully. I believe in standing up to bullies. And I believe more of my generation needs to get mobilized and start STANDING UP TO BULLIES. Not with social media posts, but with your bodies—your physical presence is now required.

White men—Alex just trained you in your mission. It’s time for all of you to use your privilege by placing your body as a hedge between these masked, lawless cowards terrorizing our streets and their prey. This is why we amended the constitution to ensure our right to bear arms.
