44: Clearing Space, Direct Connections, and the Sacred Hour

First, a BIG Thank You for the birthday love! 🎈

I didn’t open my feed to allow posts like I normally do each year, but so many of you still reached out directly. It meant a lot to hear from each of you.

If you’ve been following along, you know I’ve been relatively quiet on social platforms this year. Over the summer, I took an intentional step back to focus on myself, do some deep internal clearing, and finish the new book. Looking back over this past year, I’ve spent time letting go of habits, noise, and "dead things" in my life. Because at some point, you have to stop watering dead plants to make room for what actually nourishes you.

October ended up being a season of harvest. I’ve poured so much into the world this month:

A Deliberate Shift: Leaving Meta & Staying Connected

Today, as I reflect on another trip around the sun, I’m making a firm, deliberate choice. In light of recent election interference and algorithmic manipulation by Meta, I can no longer use their platforms.

If my work, writing, friendship, or books have ever brought value to your life, I’d love for us to stay connected directly—without an algorithm deciding whether or not we get to talk.

What I’m Returning To at 44

In past years, I’ve shared the foundational practices that bring me real fulfillment. As I stand at 44, the four pillars I wrote about years ago remain my compass—only now, they feel even more vital:

1. The Sacred Hour: My daily anchor. 15 minutes of movement and stretching to open the heart; 15 minutes of honest writing and emotional purging; 15 minutes of silent breath and meditation; and 15 minutes of prayer, Louise Hay mirror work, and affirmations. We cannot process life if we don't give ourselves time to feel it.

2. Real-Life, Intentional Connections: Choosing depth in reality over superficial digital scrolling. Giving time to the people right in front of us, honoring ourselves, our loved ones, and protecting our peace.

3. Using My Gifts to Serve: Remembering that our highest purpose is to give and receive love, and using our creative work to light the way for someone else walking through a dark valley.

4. Connecting with Nature: Grounding outdoors, breathing fresh air, and stepping away from the digital noise to refresh the soul.

One of my steady affirmations remains: “I am open to ALL the good life has for me.” Leaving the noise behind and choosing direct, intentional living is how I make room for that good.

Thank you again for all the birthday wishes, your support, and for continuing to grow alongside me.

With deep gratitude,

Joshua
